As many organizations around the world continue to respond to what is becoming known as the "PHP outage," some Fanshawe College systems and services may be temporarily unavailable or experience intermittent disruptions. PHP is technology used to run many websites and online applications across the world. Because vulnerable systems connected to the Internet may be actively targeted, prompt action is required.
To help protect our systems and data, Information Technology Services has been working around the clock since yesterday to identify potentially affected systems, apply available security updates and reduce immediate risk. As a precaution, systems that may be vulnerable and exposed to the Internet may be temporarily taken offline until they can be secured. This work is being prioritized to protect College systems and information while minimizing disruption to operations.
For IT Service Desk documentation and support, please email itservicedesk@fanshawec.ca or visit https://fanshawecca.sharepoint.com/sites/it-service-desk. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates on the Fanshawe College website.
